Physical therapy itself only represents a very small component of the overall FYZICAL business model. There is a good reason why FYZICAL has risen to become the fastest growing healthcare franchise in the United States in less than 3 years. This can be attributed to the tremendous success FYZICAL franchisees are experiencing. In a franchise business model, a franchisor cannot continue to grow and thrive if its franchisees are not prospering. What do ENTs see that PTs don’t?
The majority of physicians did not receive any formalized business education in medical school, sound familiar? They also understand the science of medicine is vastly different than the science of business and FYZICAL has demonstrated the impact business knowledge can have on the bottom line (or profitability) of a business, using their franchisees as examples. These people are in critical need of balance therapy to circumvent life-threatening falls, and physical therapists are poised to play a major role serving this population.
Most ENTs see their orthopedic counterparts operating on patients and referring the same patients into their PT center (POPT). As much as you may hold hostility towards POPTs, be prepared because you may be seeing hundreds more across the United States flying the FYZICAL banner, but, contrary to what you’ve been told, this is not a bad thing.
How do MDs affect FYZICAL?
ENTs positively affect FYZICAL and the overall brand reputation across the United States. You see, ENTs are some of the brightest, most intelligent individuals on our planet. From 3rd grade forward, they must have been in the top 1% of their class just to make it into medical school. They then needed to graduate medical school at the top 1% of their class just to get accepted into Otolaryngology. Now, ENT franchisees and PT franchisees are joining forces together to create a dominant force in medicine.
Some of FYZICAL’s PT franchisees have even become business partners with ENTs in their community, leading to additional competitive advantages, which would be impossible to duplicate outside of FYZICAL. Do you think otolaryngologists have other physician friends in other specialties? If you know anything about the medical community, you’ll know that was a rhetorical question.
